What can permanent make-up do?

Permanent make-up in Zurich, also known as PMU, is a cosmetic tattoo/pigmentation especially for the face. Unlike our microblading in Zurich, PMU is used for each of the facial areas mentioned above. The pigmentation of a PMU provides a permanent and enhanced shading of the eyebrows, lips and lash line. For eyelids and lips, pigmentation of eyelid lines and lip contours is very much on trend.

Like classic tattoos, permanent make-up fades after a while. Experience has shown that the pigmentation lasts up to 5 years. In rare cases, the PMU fades after 2 years. The decisive factor here is the skin type, which plays an important role. In contrast to mineral pigments, paints with organic pigments can change their original color. In the section “After the treatment”, you will find tips that guarantee you long-lasting and radiant pigmentation.

History of permanent make-up

As early as 3000 BC, people were pigmenting various images on their bodies using plant substances. Permanent make-up was used to emphasize natural beauty and to conceal any disadvantages of the appearance.

In Cleopatra’s time it was even used to denote social status. PMUs were very popular with the Incas, Mayas, Aztecs and Greeks. In China and Japan, permanent make-up and actual tattoos were widespread 1000 years before the birth of Christ. In 1819 / DNK, the Danish scientist Örsted invented the first “modern” battery-powered device for performing the permanent make-up procedure.
In 1876 / USA, Tomas Alva Edison invented and patented a more advanced version, called the “tattoo machine”. In 1880 / USA, Doctor Crowe Boroda performed the first permanent make-up procedure using the “tattoo machine”.

Menstruation

During this time, many women are often more sensitive to pain and the irritation can lead to minor bleeding, which means that the color does not remain in the skin as desired.

Medication / blood thinners:

No blood thinners should be taken 2 days before the treatment.

After the treatment

In the first few days, the color result generally appears much stronger than after healing (approx. 1 week). During this time, slight swelling and redness may occur for a short time. Experience has shown that these disappear after 2 to 3 days. There is a possibility that small crusts may form after treatment. In order not to impair the final result, you should not scrape them off and treat the areas with a nourishing ointment.

Finally, it should also be noted that PMU that begins to fade after around 5 years can be refreshed with microblading in our Zurich beauty salon.
